Diana F+ cameras

Taking the Plunge

By sierraromeo  This photo was taken on May 21, 2009

so since my friends are getting Diana+'s cameras i thought of making a post about it and about it supplies, so let's start shall we :D

it's one of the most famous cameras in the Lomography world it's categorized as a Toy camera  The term is misleading, since they are not merely 'toys' but are in fact capable of taking photographs but it's called so because it manufactured almost entirely out of plastic.

so the Lomography world it's a world of its own i wont elaborate on it much now it's a big subject and it need it own blog :Pp

but i'm going to mention the 10 golden rules of lomography :)
  1. Take your camera everywhere you go.
  2. Use it any time – day and night.
  3. Lomography is not an interference in your life, but part of it.
  4. Try the shot from the hip
  5. Approach the objects of your Lomographic desire as close as possible.
  6. Don't think! Just Shoot (also the credo of Lomography).
  7. Be fast
  8. You don't have to know beforehand what you captured on film.
  9. Afterwards either.
  10. Don't worry about any rules.
okay let's get back to the subject Diana F+ as my lil search leads me to the most important matter is the film rolls, Diana + takes the 120mm and the Diana mini takes the 35mm but Diana F+ takes both which is amazing all you have to do is to switch the back and you can use it with an instance film because it have an instance back its just a brilliant piece of plastic <3

120mm film roll
we don't have it here in kuwait which is frustrating and stupid so the only solution is to order them online from or which it takes at lest 1-2 weeks to reach kuwait and out of customs. if you are lucky enough that is :)

35mm film roll
well i have been look for it and i did find some stores that sells them but the problem is it's really really hard to find the ISO of choice, i mean you have to work with what the local market have to offer and what's the local market offer is 200ISO.

i wanted the 100ISO the only place i found them at is at Ashknani photo labs and of course online store have them all but what if some ppl would like to work with high ISO for low light or night photography Good Luck on that :)

don't get me wrong the 100ISO and 200ISO there is not much of difference i think 200ISO gives better contrast and brighter colors but i was kinda picky :P

the instance films will no need to say they are nowhere to be found here in kuwait :D

so since i think i made my point of how underestimated is the film photography and how the digital photography have take over kuwait *sigh*

okay i don't know what to add more so i'll just add some youtube vids and a blog that i found very useful for the users of any kind of lomography cameras including all the dianas :)
