underwater photography

Fishy, originally uploaded by SakbaBoy.

So i have been on vacation for the last two weeks in Phuket, Thailand, i have prepared for this vacation photograph-wise by ordering some photography accessory from amazon.com and i have written an post about it earlier you can check it out.

but today i wanted to give an review about this great underwater Case for DSLR Cameras i got from amazon that i took with some great underwater photos.*link*

it can fit mostly any DSLR cameras in it and it can handle pretty much long lens such as Canon EF 55mm-250mm easily which is impressive, the cost well i find it very nice and just right.

And its sold sealed no water have came in, it may see some bubbles when you dive-in but no worries its not going inside its great.

there is only one problem i found and i don't think anyone can do anything about it, it is when you try to focus it may/has screeched the lens from in inside not the camera lens the case lens.

but overall i like and i'll use it every time i go for snorkeling :D
P.S: you can see the photo i toke on my Flickr page under underwater set *link*

Be Smart And Learn The Cheap Way

As i see it there is two way to learn photography:
  1. the expansive way:
    1. taking classes.
    2. buying books.
  2. the cheap way:
    1. self-experimenting.
    2. the internet.
personally i chose the cheap way i rather save my money and buy lenses and photography tools than paying to learn photography in a class room and reading books.

So i decided to share with you and become a part of the cheap learning method of photography, one of the best methods is the self-experimenting go out there and start shooting and play with the camera setting try everything day night don't stop, but in the same time you need to know the fundamentals the basics so you can understand how everything work and can serve your shooting and give you better results, so what better way to do it then the internet.

blogs & websits:
1. http://gavtrain.blogspot.com
2. http://www.cameralabs.com
3. http://www.instructables.com

and there is much much more if you have anything to share please add the in the comments, and i also recommended to be a member in flickr and get benefit of viewing the EXIF data.

P.S: taking classes and reading books could be more effective but why not be our own teachers and learn and experiment, why do we need someone to teach us and to tell us what to do.

BA149: The Last Flight to Kuwait

This is the chilling and untold true story of the British, French, German and North American victims of an alleged MI6/Special Forces mission that used a British Airways civilian flight, as a Trojan Horse on the eve of the first Gulf War on August 1st 1990. The covert mission was an extraordinary gamble that went badly wrong, delivering 367 passengers into the hands of Saddam's Republican Guard. When the passengers and crew of British Airways flight 149 touched down in Kuwait City en route from Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur in the early hours of August 2nd 1990, their lives would never be the same again. Within hours they became hostages of Saddam Hussein's invading Iraqi army and were detained for months in horrific conditions as part of Saddam's "human shield" programme. Some were released and reunited with their families, through the humanitarian missions of Jesse Jackson and former Prime Minister Edward Heath, but others remained captive for nearly five months. Many of the passengers have never overcome the trauma of their experience. Several have committed suicide; many have split from their partners and, a decade and a half later, all still live in the shadow of their ordeal. This is their story.

My Photo Of The Day "orange sky" setting, issues and result

Orange Sky

So i always want to try and take this kind of photos "The Inside Car Shoot While Driving", so i decided to go and give it a try last night at 02:30 AM on the gulf road, the first issues i had to think about was:

-how to install the camera in the right way and position?
-which kinda of lens should be used?
-what focal length it should be used?
-which is the best time value "TV" ?
-should i use flash?

so the answers i came up with were:

-this is how i install my cam and my tripod.

-my chose of lens was 18-55mm since it's my only wide angle lens i have.

-focal length i was aiming to use 18mm but it showed the tripod so with look with the viewfinder the best focal length was 27mm.

-best Time value after taking some shoots i guess between 3-6 sec with a 5.6 Av "Aperture value".

-Flash: using the flash i kinda liked the result but the problem i don't have a good kind of flash i use the pop up one which is good but powerful and hard to control, the second reason i don't like to use flash in the car is because people will be afraid to pass your car because they think it's a cam-radar car, i have stopped in a red light and people started to look at me really really scary way i can see there eye says "we hate you" just because i have the camera mounted in the backseat, so in result i did use flash but when the street really get empty which is hared even at 02:30 to 04:15 AM.

The Beautiful Escape...

So Thursday evening i was so bored i didn't know what to do so as i was going through the web i got this interesting e-mail from virgin mega-store Dubai branch news flash:

I thought about it so hard and decided to go and check it out but the problem is it like a last minute decision, need to find plane ticket, find hotel and transportation.

the event "full moon party" Nasimi Beach Atlantis hotel

Airplane ticket:
since i'm flight from Kuwait there are three main airways that fly from Kuwait:
-Kuwait airways. *click*
-Jazeera airways. *click*
-Wataniya airways. *click*

As i was looking my options i went with the cheapest surprisingly it was "Kuwait airways" for 31.95KD but the timing was kinda tight, jazeera is way better with timing but kinda a lil bit expansive not much for 53KD and wataniya is kinda in the middle not not cheap and not expansive and the timing was to that convincing for 49KD.

so Kuwait airways it was :)

since  i'm planing to go to this event i needed a near by hotel and since the event is taking place in Atlantis hotel which is kinda out of my budget so the best way is to check out www.booking.com
i chose ibis near the mall of Emirates for 299AED = 23KD which is great price and 5 min walk to the mall and next to the Dubai new transportation method metro so it was like win win situation.

so everything seems to match up nicely airplane ticket, hotel and even the transportation so the plan was i arrive to Dubai get on the metro from terminal 1 and head to mall of Emirates metro station and get to my hotel, but what really happen... i arrived safely to dubai at 12:00 at the afternoon and i was looking for the station and i saw a sign that said that the metro station of terminal 1 is still under construction so i needed to switch terminal from 1 to 3 so i went out and get on the bus.

i arrived to the terminal 3 metro station and they told me that the metro is closed until 14:00 so i gave up and took the taxi... not fun at all... well i got to the hotel and it was one of kinda of hotel me likey me likey :D

so i took a short nap than went to mall of emirates just get all around the place just passing some time till the party time comes :D

for reading more about the party and see photos get to register to this amazing website:

back from Lebanon ... short but effective :)

long road
So i just get back from Lebanon it was great kinda long ride, it was a 16 hours long and we took it in two days from Lebanon through Syria through Jordan and stopped in KSA, Arar it took about 8 hours for the first day and for the second day we continue through KSA to kuwait for 8 hours.

P.S: my BlackBerry GPS since i bought it from Zain and they had provide it with only GCC maps.

so little time

so little time, originally uploaded by waleed alhusseinan.

Arkarna - So Little Time

Took a while to drag me out of bed,
Aim some coffee at my head,
Saw the clock I’m running late,
It’s an ordinary day.

And I’m like a dog on head,
Knock one out and then fall asleep,
It’s sad but true,
I’d rather be with you.
Don’t you forget about me,
When you’re a celebrity,
It will be only you and me before too long.

So little time so much to do,
**I’d rather spend my days with you.
So little time so much to do,
I’d like to spend one day with you.
And if that day is not enough,
Maybe we can stay in touch,
But I’m not making plans for tomorrow,
For tomorrow nevre comes.
**said I’ve been celibate for years,
Not out of chance there’s no-one here,
See I can’t get my end away,
Another ordinary day,
And I’d love to see a little more of you,
Your clothes would look better on my bedroom floor...bedroom floor.

Don’t you forget about me,
When you’re a celebrity,
I know you’re busy,
But we all need somebody - before too long.

It’s in your eyes, oooooh...
